At the Ipswich Suffolk Business Club, we pride ourselves on more than just outstanding networking events – we create opportunities for our members to explore, connect, and engage with some of the region’s most influential businesses and institutions. Over recent months, members have enjoyed a series of exclusive, behind-the-scenes visits that highlight the diverse and dynamic nature of our local and national business landscape.

A Taste of Suffolk: Adnams Brewery Tour in Southwold

In June, members travelled to the picturesque coastal town of Southwold for a private tour of the Adnams Brewery, one of Suffolk’s most iconic brands. Starting from the Adnams Tours Centre in The Swan Courtyard, members were treated to an insightful journey through the brewery’s rich history, sustainable brewing practices, and award-winning craft.

The afternoon concluded with an opportunity to sample a range of Adnams’ finest beers – or a soft drink alternative – accompanied by Brewer’s Boards featuring locally sourced charcuterie or vegetarian selections. True to Business Club spirit, several members opted to share taxis, ensuring everyone could responsibly enjoy the “goods supplied” and the camaraderie that comes with it.

Powering the Future: An Exclusive Visit to Sizewell C

In September, a small group of members had the rare opportunity to visit Sizewell C, one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the UK. The visit included a detailed presentation and guided tour, providing valuable insights into how the project will shape Suffolk’s economic landscape for decades to come.

From questions about infrastructure and environmental impact to the discussion of future opportunities for local businesses, this visit sparked meaningful dialogue and deepened understanding of a project that will define the region’s future.

Inside Westminster: An Exclusive Visit to Parliament and The Carlton Club

October brought a truly memorable experience as members travelled to London for a private tour of the Houses of Parliament, followed by an elegant dinner at the Carlton Club – one of London’s most distinguished private members’ clubs.

The evening included an exclusive discussion with James Cartlidge MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Defence, who shared thoughtful insights into current national issues and the political landscape affecting business and industry.

This rare opportunity to engage directly with a senior political figure made for a stimulating and enjoyable evening – blending business, policy, and personal connection in the heart of Westminster.

Why These Experiences Matter

These member-only events aren’t just enjoyable days out, they’re unique opportunities to learn, share ideas, and strengthen relationships among Suffolk’s leading business minds. Whether touring a world-class brewery, exploring the future of energy at Sizewell, or engaging in conversation over dinner at Westminster, each event reflects the Club’s commitment to fostering meaningful business connections and providing access to experiences that can’t be found elsewhere.
