Ipswich Suffolk Business Club held a special business briefing on Tuesday 5th June, hosted by Wherstead Park, to help members understand more about the opportunities the Upper Orwell Crossings will bring to the town.
The event included a presentation of the current proposals from Katherine Potts, Suffolk County Council’s consultation officer for the Upper Orwell Crossings, who discussed the opportunities that will arise from the new development as well as the challenges facing the project.
Katherine said: “This is an exciting project for Suffolk and engaging and communicating effectively with our stakeholders is vitally important. I hope tonight’s presentation both reassured and encouraged the business community and allowed them to see the benefits that this project will bring to Suffolk.”
This was a special one-off event and a unique opportunity to see and debate the plans for the three River Crossings ahead of the formal consultation which is planned for this autumn.
Luke Morris, Chair of Ipswich Suffolk Business Club, said: “It was very interesting to learn more about the impact the crossings will have on Ipswich and the wider area. A lot of people in the business community have been confused about some aspects of the project so it was great to have Katherine disabuse a lot of those myths and set out, very precisely, what it’s all about.”
